This is a subject that is near and dear to Hélène’s heart. She has been repairing knit wear for customers for over 20 years and taught this class as part of Shetland Wool Week’s 10-day long event in 2023.

During this 4-hour workshop, she will talk about different types of holes, from moth holes to wear holes to pulls and snags. In this day and age, it is becoming increasingly more important to prolong the life of your precious knitted garments (and even store bought ones) and keeping them out of land-fills.

Hélène will demonstrate invisible repair as well as a few visible repair methods like Swiss darning, Scotch darning, weaving and embroidery.

You will be provided handouts for future reference.

Level: Suitable for anyone looking to prolong the life of their clothing.

    Homework and required materials/tools:
